Paramount teamed up with Versus to imagine and deliver the launch of its UFC partnership, asking us to think big and capture a moment worthy of two global icons. Versus concepted a bold cinematic opener that redefined the Paramount Mountain from a new perspective, transforming it into the UFC octagon in a seamless, high-impact reveal. By blending vision, design, and craft, we created more than an opener, we created a moment that signals the start of a powerful new chapter for Paramount and UFC.
Versus concepted a unique and perspective shifting idea...
What if we pointed the camera down on the Paramount Mountain, seeing it from a new perspective? From above, the base reveals itself as an octagon, like the UFC ring, and the snow and rock patterns on the mountains, they form the UFC logo when seen anamorphically.
This shift in view signals that Paramount and UFC have always been together, and it’s only now that we are seeing it.
Versus combined cinematic CGI and VFX with precision camera choreography
to transform the octagon and the mountain into one cohesive visual. A fully CG crowd and venue were created using crowd simulations and layered seamlessly with photoreal rendering, delivering the pulse and energy of a live UFC event. The piece culminates in a moody, dramatic alignment of the Paramount and UFC logos — a prestigious opening that both honors tradition and signals a powerful new era.
